Abbey of HOPE (hands of peace extended) will offer it’s second Dinner Dialogue on January 26 on the 7th floor of the Glickman Library. The Dinner Dialogue will be held on from 5:45p.m. to 8:15 p.m. A vegetarian meal will be provided by Bushra and Qamrul Islam. The dialogue will be guided by the Peace Menu program and will focus on how people’s faith and traditions inform them about peace. A trained facilitator guides and moderates the dialogue so participants feel comfortable sharing.
The Abbey of HOPE, in collaboration with folks from Jewish Community Alliance, St Luke’s Episcopal Church, Unit of Greater Portland and others, USM’s Office of Multicultural Student Affairs are helping to create this event. The dinner is a symbolic act of tolerance, respect, and understanding. Eating together is an outward expression of unity among diverse individuals with varied beliefs and religious traditions. Join us as we share and listen and learn about, how we as a community, are united together.
